Welcome to Flock

What is Flock?

Flock is a project aimed at building a better platform for emerging artists, by removing the roadblocks of accessibility that are ingrained in the current art climate. Flock was founded by Birds Stone and Amber Winter, two early career artists, who wanted to put together a project to aid creatives and build community. In future we will be looking to add more people to the Flock team, since we want this to be a community run project. We will remain transparent with and Flock decisions throughout, and will be reaching out to our community for feedback and aid in any decisions relating to Flock.

How will we achieve this?

We will be:

• Running consistent open calls for a ‘Flock’ publication (first open call coming at the end of April)
• Running accessible events to provide artists with the skills and community to grow.
• Highlight artists through social media posts, blog posts and email news letters.
• With success of the above, we aim to run exhibitions, in order to dismantle the boundaries that early career artists face in displaying their work.

Our aim is to build a platform which is approachable and fun, which can adapt to peoples needs. An individuals personal situation should never hold them back from accessing the benefits of flock.

Flock will never be completed, it will always grow and adapt as we learn together. 

What to expect immediately 

In the next few weeks we will be getting up more and more information about Flock, plus some introductions to your current organisers. We are aiming to get the first open call or the inaugural Flock publication out by the end of April, with submissions open until the end of May.

What we need from you

We need your feedback, your questions and your engagement whilst we build this project. The more people who know we exist and what we are making, the more feedback and opinions we can get so the better we can make this.
